In 1992, Tim entered a Gospel Music Association vocalist competition in Dallas, TX. Out of 183 contestants, Tim won! First place prize was to perform as an opener for Morgan Cryar (one of Tim's favorite artists--he even named his firstborn son after him!) AND, an opportunity to record an album on Nashville's 16th avenue. Shock the World was the result of that experience. "It's very obvious I was early in my songwriting career," Tim says, "some of these songs make me cringe today. But I'm so thankful for the opportunity to experience being in a recording studio for the first time. Shock the World was released only cassette.
